1. Who I am

Marmaladies Travel is a trading name of Jessica Fisher, an independent travel advisor operating under The JLT Group.

For data protection purposes, I act as the data controller of your personal information.

Contact: jessicafisher@thejltgroup.co.uk

2. What information I collect

I collect personal information when you:

  • complete an enquiry form
  • contact me directly
  • make or discuss a booking
  • sign up for a newsletter

This may include:

  • Name and contact details
  • Travel preferences and plans
  • Information required to arrange travel (e.g. passport details, dates of birth, special requirements)

Where possible, I collect this information directly from you. Occasionally, it may come via a third party (for example, someone booking on your behalf), in which case I will ensure you are aware.

3. Why I collect your data

I collect and use your information to:

  • understand what you’re looking for
  • recommend suitable travel options
  • arrange and manage your booking
  • communicate with you about your trip

I may also use your data for closely related purposes you would reasonably expect, such as improving my service or following up after travel.

If you opt in to receiving a newsletter, I may send occasional travel ideas or updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.

4. Lawful basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, I process your data based on:

  • Contract – to arrange your travel
  • Legitimate interests – to provide a personalised advisory service
  • Consent – for marketing communications
  • Legal obligation – for financial and regulatory compliance

5. Sharing your information

To deliver your trip, your data may be shared with:

  • Travel suppliers (e.g. tour operators, airlines, hotels)
  • The JLT Group (for booking, compliance and administration)
  • Secure payment processing systems

Your information is only shared where necessary.

I will not sell or pass your data to unrelated third parties.

6. Sensitive information

Some travel arrangements require sensitive data (e.g. health, accessibility, dietary needs).

This will only be used:

  • for the purpose it was provided
  • with your consent
  • or where required by law

7. Data security

Your information is stored securely and protected from:

  • unauthorised access
  • misuse or loss
  • disclosure without permission

I take reasonable steps to ensure your data is handled safely at all times.

8. How long I keep your data

I keep your data only as long as necessary to:

  • manage your booking
  • meet legal and financial requirements

Typically, this is up to 6–7 years, after which your data is securely deleted or anonymised.

9. International transfers

As travel is global, your data may be transferred outside the UK (for example, to overseas hotels or suppliers).

I take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled securely and in line with UK data protection standards.

10. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access your personal data
  • correct inaccuracies
  • request deletion
  • restrict or object to processing
  • withdraw marketing consent

You can contact me at any time to exercise these rights.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
